Gordon’s Bonkers InfoComm Blog – Part Deux!
Tues 11th?June – InfoComm Day 1… -1
I woke up at 4 a.m., as is the norm! I did a little work and then went back to sleep. After over 350 transatlantic flights, I have become pretty good at managing my sleep patterns and jet lag…
I have an early breakfast meeting before heading off to the LVCC and walking the show. I have pre-registered, and there is absolutely no queue….so getting my badge is a breeze. Another reason to go the day before the show!!!
I absolutely LOVE walking the show the day before it opens… First off, you can feel the buzz and energy and… you get to meet some great people.
I walk past the Mimo stand and straight into my old Buddy Michael A. Campagna, CPIM , Mike was President of Peerless when I sold my business to them and became a shareholder. We shared a few stories, and I then popped past the Peerless booth to see Derrik Lam , Peerless VP Engineering 20 ft up in the air, finishing their booth. Derrik is so hands-on, and so I left him to it before catching up with Christopher Neto CTS ?on the AVIXA booth preparing content for the show.?
?Another great reason to walk the halls “pre-show” is to ensure you know exactly where everyone is located in the hall and how long it takes you to get to them… As I stated yesterday, I HATE being late for a meeting…
After the floor walks, I head off to the AV User Group, which is in full flight. It is packed, so I congratulate Owen Ellis and Andrea Jupp and watch John Orlando, CTS from PlexusAV , absolutely “Smash It!!” I do love working with this brand.

I get back to the hotel to cover all my e-mails and then head off to The Sphere, which has been organised by AVI Systems and is packed with what seems like everyone from the Industry… I get chatting the Lee Baxter, CTS at Leyard/Planar and see Dan Jago of Inavate , Christopher Lavelle of AVIXA Florian Rotberg ?of invidis consulting GmbH and a whole host of other people.
The show is absolutely amazing so if you are heading to Vegas at any point, then definitely head over to see it! It is a highly impressive and very immersive experience, and even Dave Haynes loved it LOL???! ?It was also great to see the large HYPERVSN wall in action, this was a brand Re-Sauce helped launch…
Knowing I have a VERY long day tomorrow, with Day one of the actual show and the Midwich and Peerless-AV Parties and having already walked over 13k (8 miles for my friends who work in Imperial!), I head off home like a good boy to bed, after all… I am not Superman… or AM I??????
More tomorrow from my InfoComm Blog, when it does all go Bonkers!!!?

5 个月I love pre-show! I able to give and get more face to face time on the days leading up to the showfloor opening than I do when the show is running. My advice to folks is to get into town early and go find your people, you'll be surprised who you will find in the hallways. #avtweeps
