The GOP will regret today's voting in the Electoral College

Many of the Republican electors who today vote for Trump in the Electoral College will probably later regret their vote. Trump's presidency will not be about the GOP, but about Trump himself - something already made clear by Trump, in the first Republican debate (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2zjsh5noOw ). Trump is neither Republican nor conservative, but above all a self-absorbed narcissist and ruthless demagogue. His presidency will most probably end with an impeachment that may do lasting damage to the GOP, if not the US as a whole.

8 年From far, whom are we to judge? But if we do, should we not also take into account that the GOP establishment was said to be against Trump from the very beginning? And that the Democratic party put forward a candidate who seems to have been unable to win and made some very easy to avoid mistakes? Not that this makes things better, but the weakening of institutions seems to be a very general phenomenon beyond what is being discussed in the above.

8 年Obama is planning to establish a shadow gov after he leaves in an attempt to undermine the new president. If so, would this not be considered sedition? This is considered a criminal act under the constitution 1798 and punishable by imprisonment or worse. With his leaving the presidency I believe the rule of law will once again apply.
