In the battle of giants to attract developers, Google continues to score points with Flutter, its multi platform development environment. Not content to allow the design of applications for Android smartphones (Google and partners) or iOS (Apple), Flutter could soon allow the design of desktop applications, for Mac OS, Linux and Windows."
In a milestone, a Google engineer says that compatibility with macOS, Windows and Linux is in its infancy. The work is the most advanced on macOS, because of its proximity to iOS. While Microsoft has sacrificed Windows Mobile by seeking to deploy Windows applications on future terminals with ARM processors, Google, just like Apple with the Marzipan project, seek instead to deploy mobile applications on computers. Initiatives that should simplify the lives of developers, but are still in their infancy.
