Google’s Latest PRU– How will it Impact You?

Google’s rolled out its latest Product Review Update in December 2021. Preceded by a lot of unanswered chatter and taking almost 3 weeks till completion, it definitely topped April 2021 PRU. The latest Google PRU aimed to promote review content which does more than just present templated info. More ranking will now be given to this type of content.

According to Google, it is not actively demoting reviews with “thin content that simply summarizes a bunch of products.” But whatever that may be, if you are providing such low-quality content, you are going to feel penalized. The update is primarily targeted towards product review content, trying to offer people clear content that helps them choose what to purchase.

If you want to do well with this latest PRU update, then make sure your review content gives people

-???????Details on how pros and cons would have real-life implications, and

-???????Specific and relevant descriptions of the product.

Of course, with the highly competitive e-commerce scenario going on, you can’t always stay away from set templates or generic information. But that shouldn’t be your only thing! These elements should simply be used to highlight the actual content of value on the product review page. Maybe, after this long, people are going to get some genuinely useful information when it comes to choosing between products.
