Is Google’s Hummingbird the End of Conventional SEO?

The introduction of Hummingbird by Google is getting a lot of attention from webmasters that rely a lot on SEO to attract traffic to their sites. The algorithm gives preference to online users that are looking for information by asking questions instead of the usual typing in of relevant keywords. Even so, Hummingbird still uses some of the algorithms that have been part of Google search since its inception.

Although Google’s action may seem to be against websites, webmasters can still take advantage of its introduction of Hummingbird to increase traffic to their sites. Some of the simple ways to ensure that the ranking of a website is not affected by these new changes include:

  • Greater use of entrance pages that provide answers to questions that are commonly asked within your niche. The pages should have content that is original and includes the use of long tail keywords, videos and information that has been developed from current news stories.
  • Regular production of creative content on the website as well as its corresponding blog to meet the needs of online users. Website content that is engaging and always in tune with current affairs will not be affected by the introduction of Hummingbird as it will always give the needed answers to search queries.

In general, Hummingbird pushes webmasters to develop SEO strategies that include balanced content that provides information in a creative manner while answering questions frequently asked by online users.
