The feud between Google and Microsoft’s ChatGPT gets more intense each passing day. The results of this race to be better are constantly shaping the future of the internet. What we are witnessing here will be historical in the next few years!?
Our younger generations would never know that there was a time where you had to sit down at a search engine, feed in the right keywords and go through several web pages to get what you were looking for.?
Now before you begin to question what this newsletter is about, let me break out a news to you (which a few of you tech geeks must have read by now.) Google has decided to roll out an inbuilt AI language model within its search engine.?
In case you’ve been living under a rock, or had taken a break from the internet all-together, let me remind you that GPT4 had collaborated with Bing to launch a chat-integrated? search engine.?
This leads to an increase in the user database, ofcourse. GPT4 and Bing accumulated approximately 1.6B and 957M visits, respectively.? Now while this is a small number compared to Google’s 75B visits, it still spells out T-R-O-U-B-L-E for Google’s future. How? Take a look at Google’s shares graph since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022.?
ow, although BARD serves the same function as GPT, it didn’t really meet the expectations of users. With the onset of Bing’s GPT-powered search engine, it has just made winning user’s hearts even more difficult for Google. Take a look at WSJ’s experiment with all three of the bots.?

Looks quite disturbing for Google, right? There is no doubt that in a situation like this, users are bound to rush towards Bing and ChatGPT. However, if the largest search engine was to incorporate the one thing that people are looking for - a proper chatbot - it could do wonders!?
All I can say is that whether Google succeeds or not, this race of wanting to win is going to give us users an immersive browsing experience.?
I can’t wait for Google to bring this concept into practicality. What makes me even more excited is ChatGPT’s response to this decision.?
