Hi there,

Do you love pie charts?

Well, today is your lucky day.

Also, today is the last day to get discounted tickets for The Future of Fintech Conference. The speaker lineup is bonkers. Here's just a sampling of the 40 speakers.

Use code NLFintech17 to get $1000 off through the end of today.

On with the show.

First, we put the CB Insights startup search engine up against Google search, and we kind of schooled them.

The startup graveyard

We looked at startup failure and VC-backed deal activity within the renewables space. In the last 5 years, top investor in the space Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers saw a drop in deal activity from more than 12 overall to just 1 in 2016.

Get the CB Insights newsletter delivered to your inbox to see what’s next in technology, VC and startups. 235,000+ smart executives get it. You should too.

A real pie chart

Never hated pie so much.

Into the deep

We identified over 60 startups in the deep learning space. The companies below operate across 10 different categories, from computer vision to robotics to healthcare, and more.

I'll never get this time back

I spent 25 minutes trying to figure out what this was trying to say.

I've got problems.

Startups to watch

We identified 10 early-stage bitcoin and blockchain startups to watch based on recency of funding, quality of investors, and company health. The companies on our list have all raised funding in the past 20 months.

All these companies can be found on the Bitcoin & Blockchain Collection on the CBInsights platform.

Spread the wealth

We looked at funding trends to investment and wealth management startups since 2012. 2016 set a record with 74 deals to wealth tech companies across $657M.

Love the attention to detail

Ever wondered where US foreign aid goes? This pie chart breaks it down.

The Industry Standard

CB Insights data is the most trusted by those in the industry and the media. A few recent hits.

Business Insider. Julio M. Ottino & Mark P. Mills write about the need for educators to foster innovation-as-a-skill, a key feature of entrepreneurship, and refer to the CB Insights Unicorn Tracker.

Deal Street Asia. Shiwen Yap (@shiwenyap) digs into the regulatory barriers insurance tech faces and cites CB Insights investment data in the space.

Betakit. Amira Zubairi (@amirazubairi) reports on a University of Toronto study identifying top Canadian companies using CB Insights data on VC-backed Canadian startups.

Zee Business. A look at investment into the ag tech space with a mention of CBInsights data on the subject.

I love you.
