Google has suspended ticketing website Viagogo from paid-for global search results following pressure from public campaigns and artists including Ed Sheeran. Viagogo users have complained of being denied access to events after buying tickets on the site, and paying inflated prices to scalpers. Google said it wanted users purchasing tickets to “have an experience they can trust”. Viagogo responded saying it was “extremely surprised” at Google’s concerns. The UK’s Competition and Market Authority is seeking to have Viagogo found in contempt of court for violations of consumer law. ? Here’s what people are saying.

AstraZeneca has set aside £12m to cover redundancy costs for workers at a site formerly owned by the drugs company. The Avlon site near Bristol was sold to pharma company Avara for just £1 in 2016. Avara fell into administration earlier this year. It comes amid mounting criticism from MPs who drew parallels with Sir Philip Green’s sale of retailer BHS and its subsequent collapse. AstraZeneca said it would ensure staff “receive full severance should the administration of the site not generate enough funds to cover redundancy costs”. ? Here’s what people are saying.

Dyson is in hot water with the Advertising Standards Authority for an advert that it claims gives the impression that a £400 fan is cordless. The product, shown in a video advert, is Dyson's Pure Hot and Cool Fan and is shown doing its work in a modern home. But the ASA complained that no cords or leads are shown in the ad until the final shot, and even then it is obscured by the edge of a grey carpet. Dyson has retorted that it never makes the claim that the fan is cordless. ? Here’s what people are saying.

House prices in London have fallen at their fastest rate in almost a decade in May, as prices across the UK continue to slow. The Office for National Statistics reported a 4.4% fall on an annual basis in the capital. Across the UK, prices increased by 1.2%, down from 1.5% in April. Economists warn of further softness for the housing market, weighed by “prolonged” Brexit uncertainty. Meanwhile, BT has agreed the sale of its historic London headquarters for £209.6m as part of a broader costcutting drive. ? Here’s what people are saying.

It’s the latest social media craze, using FaceApp to age your photos, but the viral face-transforming app has sparked privacy concerns. Critics are cautioning users that the photos, which automatically edit uploaded pictures to allow users to see their “future self” by using artificial-intelligence software to instantaneously rework the images, could “potentially be misused” by the software company’s Russian-based developers. FaceApp has modified more than 80 million user images and according to its terms of use, “can still store and use” images even if users delete them. ? Here’s what people are saying.

Also… Emojis may not mean what you think. There are now more than 2,8000 emojis in circulation worldwide, but some of the most popular symbols mean different things to different people.

Idea of the Day: Keeping a positive attitude does not “happen by accident,” says author and Dr Travis Bradberry

“Maintaining positivity is a daily challenge that requires focus and attention. You must be intentional about staying positive if you're going to overcome the brain's tendency to focus on threats.”

I am endlessly surprised that major artists don't auction their own tickets and have a digital platform and ticket security approach that prevents resales (but allows returns up to the last hour). Cut out the agents and the touts and the scammers, maximise revenue in a fan friendly way.
