Google challenger, Perplexity, brings on Jeff Bezos as an Investor
Perplexity is the latest contender to try to end Google’s Search dominance. “If you can directly answer somebody’s question, nobody needs those 10 blue links,” said Chief Executive Officer Aravind Srinivas.
Google has a delicate balance to strike between disrupting its immensely profitable search advertising business and using AI to answer search queries more efficiently.
Perplexity has no such constraints on creating a fresh Search experience. They started less than two years ago and have 10M monthly users, which led them to secure a new funding round from investors, including Jeff Bezos.
