Google Ranking System- Has Anyone Understood The Process?

A few months back, Google changed the ranking system for websites. This has led to much confusion in understanding the parameters of ranking. What is the process followed by Google? Please share your input.

I was working with two popular websites as a freelance writer. Both the sites had decent traffic before the new parameters set by Google. But since November 2023, there has been a drastic fall in traffic.

Websites undertook corrective measures- They removed AI content, replacing it with human, original content. It was a good time for content writers like me, who write original, well-researched content. Sadly, the traffic has not increased for these sites.

I want to understand what changes I need to make in my writing style to ensure my clients can retain and improve their rankings.
