Google Posts - the new way to promote your business in search results (without paying)

It's not often that Google gives marketers free advertising within it's search results (well apart from those $50 vouchers you get when you open an AdWords account). But in the past few weeks they have done just that with the rolling our of a new Google My Business feature - Google Posts.

Google Posts are simple message posts that appear within the Knowledge Graph box and visible to people who search for your business name (sometimes appending a location will make these appear too).

As you can see from the example image below, you get the chance to write a small amount of text, add an image and a CTA button. These posts are perfect for promoting something timely and relevant for your business - they last just 7 days before disappearing.

Posts can also be used to list an event, making them perfect if you are hosting something for your customers.

On a desktop they stand out well, but on a mobile device they really come into their own, giving you a strong presence above the other organic listings on that search results page...and all for no cost (other than a minute of your time).

To find out more about the benefits of Google Posts, how you can create them and how to measure their effectiveness, read my full blog post.

And if you've got any questions then let me know and I can hopefully answer them :)
