Problem Statement: Google Play Store showing Open button instead of Update button
Possible Solutions: To resolve the above issue We have followed the below all solutions. But it did not worked. We have fixed the issue by Solution 7 which is not available directly on google.
If it is download from play store even its not showing update button then follow below steps
Solution 1 :Ensure you're connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile data network.
Solution 2 :Clear cache for Google Play Services app (Go to Settings > Apps or Application Manager > ALL > Google Play Services > Clear cache > OK).
Solution 3 :Clear cache data for the Google Play Store app.
Solution 4 :Uninstall and reinstall the Play Store updates. (Go to Settings > Apps or Application Manager > Google Play Store app > Uninstall Updates > OK). As long as you have a strong Internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data), your Play Store app will update to the latest version within a few minutes.

Solution 5 :Install system updates. To do this, try the steps listed below: Open your device's main Settings app. Select About or System updates (depending on your device, this may be different). If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it on your device. Now, please check if the update button is available.
Solution 6 :Restart your device.
Solution worked
Solution 7: We have checked the google play console from where we upload thew new builds. Actually android identifies the new version based on version code. For new version it version code should be grater then the old version code.
For example => You can see below image.
your current app version code is 349(3.49) then your new version code must be 350(3.5.0) or 400(4.0.1). So play store identifies the new and higher version code and shows update button instead of open. But here the app version code was set 3(3.50) which is defiantly not grater then previous version 349(3.49). And thats why update button was not displaying. So to fix it we have released new version 400(4.1) which is higher then 349(3.49). And when we released the app update button has started working for existing customers who was having the build installed in phone.
NOTE : The above solution is one of the possible solutions. You may have different issue thnn I have listed.
