DOJ rules that Google is a Monopoly

Google has been found to violate anti-trust laws.

No penalties have been issued yet, as another trial is required to determine the penalty.

Google is expected to appeal the ruling and try to overturn it.

Volatility in the SERPs

The second half of last week saw a huge spike in SERP volatility.

This coincides with the announcement of the Explicit Fake Content Update. Not sure if that only hit those websites or issued more changes in the web.

Websites with too many requests for deep fake removals will be demoted.

New study by the WSU finds consumers don't like AI buzzwords

A study from the Washington State University showed that consumers do not like AI mentions in product descriptions.

While companies use AI as a buzzword to sell more, consumers have become un-bedazzled by the buzzwords.

We are in the AI decline right now, and while the AI buzz kept many companies profitable in 2023, consumers are now more sceptical.

AI as a feature is still pretty popular.

Just, don't overdo it ... you are not the ... "AI of XYZ" if you just have one feature over there.

This can harm your long-term marketing efforts!

Search Console Recommendations

Google announced yesterday it's Search Console Recommendations.

This is an experimental feature, and I don't access to it from the properties I manage. If you come into it, feel free to send me a screenshot, I am very curious about it!
