I strongly believe Google Maps and Google Photos are two of the best products Google has created. And I am sure most my readers won't disagree too. So I am not going to be preaching to the choir about these products, but sharing a very interesting use-case that I stumbled up this weekend that I thought was worth sharing.
Hey Buddy what's your address ?
I had to visit a friend's house for dinner a few days ago. He didn't include the address in his message (or maybe he did and I deleted that) so I was desperately trying to recollect which street he lived it (yeah I am getting old). I messaged him a few times, but he was likely not looking at this phone during dinner prep time.
So what should Amit do ? A bit of detective work.
I went to Google Photos (yep). In Google Photos I have faces tagged of all my friend.
I look up his name to see all the pictures I have of him.
Figured out that the last time we had dinner at his place was April 21, 2017
Then I go to Maps and look at the timeline view.
Scroll down a little and I see his address !
Mission accomplished !
I have now used this hack a couple of times just in the last week to check on a forgotten address without having to bother my wife to hunt for the same.
So maybe some of my geeky readers would benefit from this hack/tip too !
I ? Google Photos + Maps !
Enjoy.
