Google makes it simpler to keep track of the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Just in time for the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on November 20, Google Search has launched a new hub for all soccer fans to view detailed match information and sign up for alerts when their favorite teams face one of the other 31 competing nations.

In preparation for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, Google will make a number of changes to its websites and mobile applications. If you type "World Cup" into the Google app or the web's homepage search, you'll be taken to a hub with tabs for tracking the tournament's progress, previous games, and upcoming schedule. These tabs will show information about specific games, such as winning odds and relevant variables. Also, the central location would make it easier to look up specific athletes and learn about their pasts and biggest milestones.?

If you like soccer, you can watch daily highlight videos right in Search. They can be accessed via FIFA+ or one of the official broadcast partners. You can pin the current score of any game to your Android device's home screen by tapping and dragging the game from the hub to the home screen. If you want to practice swiping and scoring goals, Google has an interactive global multiplayer game in the search results where you can pick a team and score virtual goals for the duration of the real-world match.

The Agenda app on your new Pixel Watch or any other Wear OS-powered smartwatch allows you to keep track of when you intend to watch the next game. assistant can help you create comparable reminders. Hublot's Wear OS-powered official referee's watch for the 2022 Fifa World Cup will feature countdowns to upcoming matches and entertaining animations when teams score goals, making it ideal for the most ardent soccer fans. It is extremely unlikely that you will be able to purchase one for $5,800.

Along the sidelines, Google Assistant now has an expanded collection of soccer facts. All you need to do is say, “Give me a soccer fun fact.” You could also engage in a potentially interesting conversation with Assistant about soccer using prompts like “Do you like soccer?”, “It's game time”, and “Say goal!”

Besides Search and YouTube, we saw Waze (another Google enterprise) launch a limited-time special?navigation experience celebrating the World Cup earlier this week. Hopefully, more tech companies and services will make slight changes to their interfaces and feature sets to celebrate this sporting event.
