Google about to launch Gmail’s re-design

Recently Google sent an email to all its G suite customers informing them about the new changes in Gmail for the web.

Gmail has been pretty much the same since past few years but now it was high time for Google to consider Gmail re-design to be in the game.

Although Google did not disclose all the features that we can see in the new design, but it gave out a few to be ready for.

Talking about what all we can expect in the re-design is a fresh & clean look of Gmail, easy access to Gmail calendar from within Gmail, smart reply and then there is snooze feature which is a great way to delay your email for a few hours or days if you can’t reply to them at the moment. Both these features already exist in the mobile app but now they are coming to the web as well.

The main highlight of Gmail’s re-design are these two features:

Firstly, saving your mails offline. A feature which exists in many other applications and websites is finally being incorporated to Gmail.

Secondly, self-destructive emails. The new design of Gmail will be coming up with some security features which ensure that only authorized person(s) will be able to see the email for a limited period of time set by the sender. If after the set time a person tries to access the mail, an expired link to the message is displayed and it will not be available for viewing. Also in such mails recipients are not given the right to copy, paste or print that makes the message more secure. However, the status about the print screen command in this case is still something to look for.

Despite of a few questions the new design of Gmail sounds exciting, isn’t it? Imagine all these features in your favorite webmail platform wherein you can snooze, send in smart messages, save your mails and send mails with a timer is something worth waiting for.

As per the news the new re-design will roll out to all the Gmail users in a few weeks and all we can say for now is “Don’t be evil”.

I hope they've improved some of its bizarre counterintuitive functionality. O.o
