Google Guarantee - Local Services Ads

Google Guarantee - Local Services Ads

Looks like Google has launched a new paid service that you pay only when a customer gets in touch from your ad. But it begs the question how does Google guarantee the quality of the business?

Google Guarantee results in SERPs for term "how to get food stains out of carpet"

According to Google, "To participate in Local Services Ads, all businesses must pass Google’s screening and verification process. The process varies by business category and location and may include background, business registration, insurance, and license checks, and minimum review requirements."

What does the screening process entail?

As part of Google’s screening and verification process, businesses seeking to advertise with Local Services Ads are required to complete appropriate background checks and have appropriate licenses and insurance, as applicable. These requirements may include, but aren't limited to:

Identity verification requirements

  • Business owner identity verification (select verticals only)
  • Fieldworker identity verification (select verticals only)

Background check requirements

Business registration requirements

Insurance requirements

License requirements

  • Business license on state or province level
  • Owner license on state or province level
  • Verified Google Business Profile (EMEA select countries only)

Minimum review requirements

In which countries is it available?

It is available in US and Canada and selected EMEA Markets according to Google. Mainly:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Spain
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom

How does it affect SEO?

Not entirely related to SEO but it affects Organic Results as:

  1. Gets a huge chunk of real estate in the SERPs
  2. Boosts Local SEO which can be golden for International companies as well as local SMEs
  3. It appears even above AI Overview in the SERPs

We will follow up closely on this feature and provide more updates from our analysis.
