Google Form To Google Slides Automation

At Creators Network India , we recently faced an exciting challenge from a long-time client, which allowed us to showcase our problem-solving skills and technological expertise. The client needed an efficient way to compile and update event details across their global offices into a master presentation.

The Challenge

Our client required a presentation template of 20 to 30 slides, to be distributed to their local offices worldwide. Each office would fill in details about the major events they handle and send the completed presentations back to headquarters. The goal was to compile these into a single master presentation and continuously update it with new projects. This master presentation would be stored on their intranet for easy access by anyone in the organization for client presentations.

However, this posed several challenges:

1. Manual Labor: Compiling and updating the presentations manually was time-consuming and labor-intensive.
2. Consistency: Ensuring all local offices used the same template consistently was difficult.
3. Cost: Creating and maintaining such a template would incur significant costs.

The Idea

To address these challenges, we proposed a more futuristic, tech-savvy, and automated solution. Filling up a form is far easier than creating PPTs, requires no additional skills, and can be done by anyone. Knowing that Google Forms can automatically capture data, I envisioned a solution that would directly fetch this data into a Google Slides template.

Our concept was to:

1. Automate Data Collection: Use Google Forms to collect event details from local offices.
2. Integrate with Google Slides: Automatically transfer this data into a predefined Google Slides template, streamlining the process for compiling and updating the presentation.

The Research

To validate this idea, we conducted thorough research using resources like ChatGPT, Gemini, and various YouTube tutorials. Our goal was to determine the viability of this solution and identify the best approach to implement it. Once we confirmed that our idea was feasible, we sought out an expert to bring it to life.

The Solution

We collaborated with a skilled freelancer from South Asia on Fiverr, who expertly executed our vision. The solution involved:

1. Creating a Google Form: Local offices would use this form to submit details about their events.
2. Automating Google Slides: A script was written to pull data directly from the Google Form and populate a predefined Google Slides template with the event details.

This automation ensured that the master presentation could be easily updated with new projects, saving time and effort for our client and their local offices. Moreover, the final output is fully editable, allowing for any necessary corrections or updates directly on the slides.

The Outcome

The client was thrilled with the outcome. The new automated system not only reduced manual labor and costs but also ensured consistency and ease of access. Now, their team can focus more on their core tasks rather than spending time on repetitive data compilation and updates.
