Google is failing to label ads from anti-abortion fake clinics

NEW: Our research shows Google is failing to label ads from anti-abortion fake clinics.

Fake clinics target users searching for abortion services like Planned Parenthood Federation of America , carafem , Hey Jane Health, National Abortion Federation and Plan C Pills .

In June 2019, 谷歌 promised it would add a disclaimer to ads about abortions. Ads from anti-abortion groups should carry a disclaimer saying "does not provide abortions". But anti-abortion fake clinics are exploiting a loophole to get around the rule, and 谷歌 won't fix it.

Ads for anti-abortion clinics should always include a clear disclaimer that they don't offer abortions. Instead of how they look right now if you search for leading abortion services.

Users are being lied to.

Fundamentally, Google is selling search terms for abortion providers to people who don’t provide abortion services. They say they've removed some ads, but that's not the problem.

Join us in telling 谷歌 to put disclaimers on all ads for anti-abortion fake clinics.
