The new proposals would apply to revenue from certain digital services and firms with annual global revenue above €750 million ($918 million), such as Facebook, Google and Amazon. The proposal, which requires unanimous support of EU countries to become law, is “among Europe’s most-aggressive measures” yet to crack down as what it sees as abuses (including tax avoidance) by tech powerhouses. ? Idea of the Day: Escaping the “disease to please” at work can be daunting, but solely focusing on being liked can undermine your ability to make clear decisions, says Dr. Marshall Goldsmith. While it’s admirable to think about others, it’s crucial to focus on your own goals.

“To retain any serenity in this ramped?up environment, you need to think carefully about your priorities. Not what would please others, not what would make everyone think you’re the most wonderful person they’ve ever worked with or met, but what you in your heart want to be and achieve in your life.”

Things like this are making what was once a small close-knit community into the big city that they have been wanting it to be. This reflects badly on the city, the city planning committee and the people here in general. It is one of the reasons that I am leaving the home I used to love so much.
