A.I and Software Development Jobs
So let's get into it:
Quora Poe, Google Bard, Baidu Ernie - a triple chatbot encroachment on OpenAI's "first-mover" Microsoft turf.
Hello Everyone,
It’s been a big week in A.I. news. The ecosystems of Conversational A.I. are really opening up. I recently covered?Baidu’s Ernie, and now there’s the Q&A platform?Quora?who have opened up public access to its new AI chatbot app,?Poe, which lets users ask questions and get answers from a range of AI chatbots.
But as I previously covered,?the AnthropicAI investment by Google into Claude?has now led to the long-awaited announcement of LaMDA based Apprentice Bard, now just called Bard.
The 40-minute event will be?streamed on YouTube?on February 8th at 8:30AM ET.
The way conversational AI could transform Search and how we manipulate data could change human productivity and?could even replace some demand for certain jobs, while creating totally new ones.
For the likes of Google, Microsoft, Baidu, Quora and others, how people search the web could fundamentally change with all of these chatbots including ChatGPT, Claude, Bard, Sparrow, Ernie, Poe and others. There will be dozens more. Surrounded by an ecosystem of thousands of A.I. tools.
Google Bard has finally officially been announced.
Bard is an experimental conversational AI service, powered by LaMDA. Built using our large language models and drawing on information from the web, it’s a launchpad for curiosity and can help simplify complex topics.
Google announced on February 6th, 2023 a new conversational AI technology it will open up to public testing called Bard.
Google promises to make their experimental conversational AI service, powered by LaMDA, available more widely in the coming weeks.
LaMDA stands for Language Model for Dialogue Applications, is a family of conversational neural language models developed by Google and have been in development for many years.
Google will open up Bard to “trusted testers” before making it more widely available to the public in the coming weeks, the company said in a blog post.
It’s all very exciting and will also upgrade humanity in important ways.
Google Bard?is an experimental conversational AI service, powered by LaMDA that could easily become several A.I. products for Alphabet and for Google Cloud for enterprises. Google also has a PaLM based competitor coming to Microsoft’s GitHub Copilot, that costs $19 for a business subscription.
So Bard and all of this momentum Google has is bigger than just Search or Ads, but it’s also the future of Q&A, customer service, prompt functions and related to the future of coding and software engineering itself. The stakes are high. Generative A.I. I estimate will fast-track everything from game development to drug discovery. Things to watch:
The Internet’s Q&A, Search and Prompt Functions
What ChatGPT,?Bard?and Quora’s?Poe?mean is not just how search is transformed into prompting functions whether that’s text-to-image, text-to-video, text-to-code and other things, it’s changes how we use A.I. increasingly to get answers, summaries, lists, and generate our own trivial texts like Emails and turn our no-code projects into real world products faster.
CNBC had previously reported that Google was testing a chatbot called “Apprentice Bard,” where employees can ask questions and receive detailed answers similar to ChatGPT. Another product unit has been testing a new search desktop design that could be used in a question-and-answer form.?Now with the launch, it’s just called Bard.
Some emerging tech analysts are not sure Google and others can easily catch up to Microsoft and OpenAI’s moment with ChatGPT, that was launched in demo on November, 30th, 2022.
Just as?Quora’s Poe?(announced February 3rd, 2023) isn’t something they haven’t been thinking about since forever with how we ask and answer questions online, since the founding of Quora, back in 2009. This is all the culmination of years of work and R&D that’s ongoing:
Quora has always been a place where you could ask questions to the internet and get expert answers. Poe stands for:?Platform for Open Exploration.?And I’m stoked about it. The reason being is because Q&A is so much about the utility of the internet. Conversational A.I. has to upgrade text based search, not just with ChatGPT and Bard, but with new tools across the web.
Quora even describes itself different with Poe now:
A place to share knowledge and better understand the world.?Now building Poe — fast, helpful AI chat.
The world does want helpful AI chat and chatbot personalized to us and our needs and preference.
Conversational A.I. doesn’t have to “catch up” to OpenAI and ChatGPT, it’s always been in development. Consumers are just in for a treat in 2023 and 2024, since so much will go live.
How?professionals and their industries?are upgraded with these tools and interfaces over the coming years also means human civilization augmenting itself with A.I. or embodied A.I. That is, the?human-AI hybrid workforce?is normalized.
And how can you not be excited with all of this and how?GPT-4?will change things. I’m really looking forwards to?Google’s February 8th Live in Paris presentation.
