Google Alerts for Brand Reputation

Consider this a reminder to add Google Alerts for:
- Your Non-Profit Organization's name
- Your NPO's leadership (professional and lay)
- Your top donors
- Any other topics that may be relevant to your field of service
"I have never done this before...why should I do this?"
If your top donors, lay leaders, or professionals are in a news article, this is an easy way to find out. Maybe you just want to say congrats on their mention. Or maybe you want to get ahead of a potential PR challenge. Or another related organization or business has news that might affect your mission. Whatever the reason- the alert exists so that you are not caught unaware when a constituent or donor asks you about the news.
Sometimes it's the little things that can make a big impact in your work.
Consider the News Cycle
Right now a lot of people are thinking about coronavirus (COVID-19). Consider adding to your list of Google Alerts the town of our organization and the related search terms, in case it should show up in the news.
