Glenn Gabe shared a few screenshots with his X subscribers, showing search results containing AIOs. He noted how challenging it can be to track such results:
‘So, how hard is it to track AI overviews? Pretty freaking hard. Here's the same search via logged in, incognito, and then via labs. All are different. In labs, there's no AIO (third screenshot). When logged in, the new link treatment shows up (first screenshot). When incognito, old link treatment (second screenshot). And of course, you can't break any of this out in GSC. For site owners, good luck with tracking them…’
Barry Schwartz commented on the post, saying, 'Yeah, we need this data in Google Search Console.'

The SEO community received a response from John Mueller regarding AI Overviews in the EU.
Question: ‘[...] why AI Overviews are still not present in the EU? [...]’
Answer: ‘I don't have a specific reason, sorry. Some features just take a while to be ready and available in other countries, usually there's not just a single reason why they're not available everywhere yet. You also often see this with features powered by rich results, which is why we try to document their availability in our documentation.’

There was an instance where AI Overviews displayed results from a “404 Not Found” page. Lily Ray noticed it and shared a screenshot on her X account.
Lily also monitors the geographic relevance of AIO results. She has identified numerous instances of AI displaying irrelevant results from various parts of the world. Here's her next point :
‘[...] look how many of the results below (for a search done in the U.S.) still come from non-U.S. sites. And a couple of them are from ecommerce sites that don't ship to the U.S.’
And as for the final quote from Lily Ray's social pages? Well, she noticed that AIO suggested a product in response to a non-commercial query.
