Google Ads Display Certification

Google Ads Display Certification

Hello, Connections!

I am pleased to announce that I have successfully completed my second Google Ads certification, this time in the area of Google Display Ads.

I picked up a few nuggets of information throughout the course. Let's talk about a few of them now.

What is display advertising?

Display advertising is a strategy for motivating people who frequent a website, social media site, or other digital medium to take some sort of action. They typically include text ads, image ads, and video ads that prompt the user to visit a specific website and complete a specific task (e.g. make a purchase).

Cost-per-click (CPC) pricing is the norm for most digital advertising campaigns, including display ads. To put it another way, your overall bidding strategy will determine how much you will pay whenever a user clicks on your ad while using a search engine.

Moreover, they can be put to use in retargeting efforts. Here, ads are displayed to people who have previously visited a particular website. To "retarget" them and get them to come back to the site to perform the same task is the goal (or an action at a different stage of the funnel).

Some other Forms of Display Ads are-

  1. Banner Ads: Banner ads, one of the earliest and most common online advertising formats, are typically displayed as horizontal graphics across the top of websites.
  2. Interstitial Ads:?These advertisements take the form of full web pages and are shown to users before the content they initially requested loads.
  3. Rich Media:?These ads include interactive elements, such as video, audio and clickable elements.?
  4. Video Ads:?Marketers now have access to a new audience on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, in addition to the already established one on YouTube's advertising platform. It's smart to put money into video ads because they help you reach your target audience and build rapport with them.

The following are some considerations to help you better reach your intended audience:

  1. Keyword Targeting
  2. Demographic Targeting
  3. Placement Targeting
  4. Topic Targeting
  5. Interest Targeting

Measuring Your Display Ads

Let's say you've already established your display advertising campaigns. You now have some data to work with and can see some results. Now is the time to use appropriate metrics to evaluate those outcomes.

Here are four crucial metrics to track throughout the entire display advertising funnel. You can use them to fine-tune your audience selection, enhance your ad copy, and boost your conversion rates.

  1. Impression
  2. Reach
  3. Click-through rate
  4. Conversion rate

Optimal targeting is the key to the success of any paid marketing campaign. If you don't have the right people visiting your website, no amount of clever advertising or landing page design will help.
