Hands down the number one question I get about how to retire early is regarding managing the costs of health care and prescriptions.
GoodRx is a discount prescription service that could save you hundreds of dollars on your next refill. The service uses coupons and compares prices in search for the cheapest price on your prescription. It is not an insurance plan, nor does it need any special insurance plans in order to work.
Here is a link to explain how it works and how to sign up:
Count me as a skeptic, as I had noticed the GoodRx card advertisement at my doctor’s office several times. I was in his office one day complaining that I needed to get an EpiPen (Yellow Jackets don’t like me) and I didn’t want to pay the $600+ price tag on a new one. My doctor then introduced me to GoodRx. He looked up the cheapest price, printed out a coupon for me and sent me on my way. I was shocked when I ended up paying $9.95 for the generic version using the coupon.
Since then, I’ve had other prescriptions filled using a coupon. I have saved over $3,000 on prescription drugs since finding GoodRx. Yes, $3,000 in savings.
My life partner Deb has saved money using it to fill a monthly prescription for her dog, so it works for animals too.
With health care and prescription costs at outrageous prices these days, any sort of discount can be beneficial. If you currently have an ongoing need for a prescription, plug it in here https://www.goodrx.com to see if you can save some money.
It’s helped me. Hopefully it can help you too.

p.s. I was not paid to endorse GoodRx nor is this an affiliate link where I get paid to refer a service. My experience has been a positive one with them and I wanted to pass on the information
