Goodbye VMware and Welcome...

Goodbye VMware and Welcome...

Why I believe in?VMware/Broadcom....... ?Omnissa EUC even more!

I'm thrilled... Why? The end-user computing division (EUC) is being divided from Broadcom in a few months and will continue as an independent company. I believe this is good news for our existing customers, as well as for customers who are looking for solutions beyond what their current digital workspace environment offers.

I’m also extremely enthusiastic with Omnissa continuing the focus and development of the EUC suite, because of the large amount of ITQ’ers that have invested heavily in their skills and knowledge on these products. Happy for them and ITQ as a whole, that this is still a rock steady investment for now and the future.

And I’m happy for our customers, that have invested in the former VMware EUC products in the past. The journey continues in a very promising way.

There's a new company name, but the purpose remains "Empower employees to do their best work from anywhere in a smart, seamless, and secure way!"

The new name will be: Omnissa (LINK TO:?https://www.omnissa.com)

Here's some more background: VMware was bought by Broadcom, and Broadcom decided to sell VMware's portfolio of desktop and application virtualization products. They were acquired by a private equity company called KKR for around $4 billion. VMware's EUC products represent an annual revenue of approximately $1.5 billion and these products are frontrunners in the market! If you look at the Gartner Magic Quadrant for EUC, their products have been named as leading for years.

Why am I so excited?

Over the past few years, we've successfully migrated many customers to the digital workspace solution of the former VMware.?This includes:

  • Workspace One UEM (Unified Endpoint Management). Deliver and manage any app on any device, anywhere.
  • Workspace One Intelligence. Gain insights, analytics, and automation across the Anywhere Workspace.
  • Workspace One Mobile Threat Defense. Protect mobile devices from advanced cyber threats.
  • Horizon (VDI). Enhance your workspace with the efficiency and secure delivery of virtual desktops.
  • Horizon Cloud Service. Modernize virtual desktops and app delivery with a hybrid Daas platform.

With these products, we were able to migrate our customers to a digital workspace environment that meets the demands of today. In Europe, we have successfully migrated hospitals, financial institutions, manufacturers, governments, and many more types of businesses, with great success and satisfaction. Some of these customers now manage these environments themselves, while others have asked us to take over management for them by our MSP Team.

The former Business Unit from VMware was and is very successful, and I believe that, with the revenue and number of customers they have today, they easily earn the right to be a separate organization. It will provide even more focus on further developing of the EUC products.

Additionally, KKR will continue to invest, ensuring that R&D does not stand still, which is crucial. Customers who chose to work with these products in recent years did so mainly because they were not satisfied with the solutions offered to them by there existing vendors.?This is also where the?Omnissa?platform stands out. The?Omnissa?platform offers a place to work for every single employee, independent of the type of application, the type of endpoint, or the location, without the need for IT to invest in point solutions. This is why we believe in the platform approach.

By spinning off the former VMware EUC to Omnissa, a company will emerge that, together with partners, wants to make customers more successful in the digital workspace world. A world where more and more will happen in the coming years, and where security, user experience (UX) and user-friendliness are top priorities and will remain so.

I have already spoken to the new (actually existing) management of Omnissa several times, and the shared strategy gives me a lot of confidence that we will continue to be successful together.

I am greatly looking forward to the formal announcements in the coming months, and we will continue to successfully migrate customers to these platforms. At the moment, we are completing a number of large migrations, and there are also a number of new large customers who have signed up, which gives us a lot of confidence in the credibility of this strategy.
