Goodbye for now, NZ

Goodbye for now, NZ

My brand spanking new wife is taking up a diplomatic posting in Washington DC next week. Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to NZ and Snowball Effect for 3 years.

I want to thank everyone who's helped Snowball to grow and exceed our expectations over the first 2.5 years in market. I've been blown away by the help we've received from entrepreneurs, investors, partners, senior business people, and the NZ public. The openness and willingness to pay it forward in our country is so valuable. It's truly a great place to do business.

Snowball's on a mission to simplify investment into high growth Kiwi companies. And the impact has begun. We’ve started to make the capital market work much more efficiently for growth companies, so they can focus on selling their products to the world. 90% of offers are successful in our marketplace, and the average raise size is around $1m. We’ve started to provide investors with a simple way to gain exposure to interesting private equity investment opportunities – facilitating the flow of national savings into wealth-creating assets. More than 11,000 investors have subscribed to our email comms, making Snowball the largest private equity investor audience in NZ.

Our team is all motivated by the significant positive impact we can make by building a thriving marketplace to connect growth companies with the capital they need. Along the way, we hope to develop the general financial literacy of New Zealanders, and bring far more meaning, excitement, and engagement to investing.

I'm excited by the road ahead for Snowball. And look forward to seeing Simeon, Shaun, Cowan, Peter, Michelle, Aiden, and the non-exec remainder of the team continue to grow the impact of Snowball in the capital markets.

I'll remain involved on the sidelines, so please keep in touch at [email protected]. And if you have connections in Washington DC and surrounds that may be interested in NZ opportunities, I'll happily meet and do what I can to support.

See you in a few years!

Congrats on what you and the team have achieved Josh. We just interviewed Milot Zeqiri from ArchiPro and he only had good things to say about their experience with Snowball Effect. https://nzentrepreneur.co.nz/interview-milot-zeqiri-archipro
