Goodbye for now....

After nearly 2 years of running Onecom, I have agreed with the Board that the time has come to step down.

Covid has taught me more than ever how important family is and in the short term this is where my focus will be.  

I look back on my time at Onecom with a lot of pride. 

In addition to successfully leading the Management buyout of Onecom to LDC in a ￡100m deal, Onecom grew its top and bottom line in 2018 and 2019. During 2019 Onecom also became more recognised across the industry through multiple industry awards that were won, including The Best Customer Service Award at the Mobile News Awards.  

Of most satisfaction to me is the culture that I leave at Onecom. People were at the heart of the strategy and a culture was created that enabled us to  make significant progress on the journey to be the best place to work in the sector. Investor in People (IIP) Gold status was achieved at the hardest time possible this year  (during the pandemic) which put Onecom in the top 3% of all companies that IIP assess. This was achieved through continuous focus on all people matters but in particular recognition and communication.

It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye. I want to thank Darren Ridge for giving me the opportunity to come in and run the amazing business he had built up. I also want to thank LDC for giving me the opportunity and supporting me to do a management buy out. And finally I want to thank Mark Thompson for being a great Chairman and sounding board during my time as CEO. 

I wish you all and above all I wish everyone who works at Onecom the best of luck for the future.
