Goodbye

Dear all, Dear Network, Dear Partners

Yesterday I closed off the last chapter of what has been a very exciting book. After 15 years at Ferranti and the MECOMS Partner ecosystem I will be starting a new adventure next week. (more on this soon here) I would like to take this final moment to thank each and every colleague, customer and partner with whom I have had the pleasure to work with for all these years! (I will not be mentioning names as there are too many to mention ??)

A few things come to mind while writing this note wishing you all the best and saying goodbye…

I started my career as a junior developer at Ferranti helping build of what would become our MECOMS Product. I then moved on into various roles helping deploy MECOMS around the world. (Saudi Arabia, Denmark, Germany, UK, etc.) and visiting countless countries and cities and meeting many of you. I will cherish these experiences and forever be grateful of the wide network around the world resulting from it.

Ferranti also gave me the opportunity to relocate to Vancouver, Canada. It’s also there where our first Canadian son was born ?? He will forever hold a dual Belgian-Canadian nationality due to this fantastic opportunity. My decision to leave I obviously did not take lightly. I am leaving behind a family and friends. But sometimes you have to spread your wings once again.

#gratitude

I am really thankful of the career I was able to build at Ferranti. If I can leave with one piece of advice is to reap the opportunities given to you and enjoy them where ever you are and who ever you work for. Try challenging yourself and take on new opportunities as they present themselves! This is also the reason for me moving on to my new great opportunity.

Lastly, i would like to wish everyone a Ferranti and the whole partner Ecosystem all the best! May you continue doing great work within the Energy and Utilities sector globally. Its a great time to be part of it as the sector is in full transformation and Utilities are the orchestrators of new business models such as decentralization and EV's to name just a few...
