Goodbye, 2022!!!

by Paige Cohen, Senior Editor

Welcome. The past 12 months have been a journey. But look at you. You’re here. You have arrived. It’s the holiday season.

Mistletoe and snowflakes. Sky lanterns and plumb pudding. Chocolates. Wine. Candlelight, presents, feasts, and prayers.

Whatever festivities you’re celebrating this December, I’m sure you’re feeling mixed emotions. The holidays can be a joyful, but also stressful, time of year. Some of us may be missing our loved ones, or not have a ton of money to spend on gifts and fancy meals. Still, there is hope in the air. In 2022, we were resilient. Now, 2023 is around the corner, and with it comes promise.

This week, give yourself a little grace. Own your feelings. If you’re upset because you miss your family, sit with that for a while. If you’re excited to decorate your first fake tree, don’t hide it. If you’re feeling nostalgic, and need some space for reflection, take it. Every one of your emotions is valid, and you deserve to honor them after another long year.

In the spirit of rest and reconciliation, our team will be OOO the last week of the year. We will return with another edition of this newsletter in 2023. In the meantime, here are some recommended holiday reads:
