Short review 2021 and outlook 2022
Dear sports car friends,
The year 2021 is drawing to a close and I am sitting at my desk - as I do every year around Christmas time - to review the past year in order to start the new year with a clear head.
"Nothing is as constant as change" once said the Greek philosopher Heraclitus. And so for us, 2021 felt like the roads we love so much - winding with some twists and turns, high speed and quite a few beautiful moments.
Privately, it was pleasantly quiet this year with more focus on friends and family. There was time for a tour of several days through the Alps in a Morgan Plus Six, and curves will play a big role again in the coming year.
After my 40th birthday last January, I'm definitely no longer one of the young guns, but my two little boys are already fighting their first races around the dinner table. The next generation definitely has petrol in its blood and always full batteries...
This year, too, we have benefited greatly from the long-term and trusting relationships with our customers, manufacturers and also dealer colleagues. We are firmly convinced that together we can achieve more and are very much looking forward to experiencing this community in person more often in the future. On behalf of the entire team, I would like to thank you for the many wonderful moments!
In an area of tension between great curiosity about new technologies and a longing for the tried and tested, we have found an island in MOTORWORLD Munich where both worlds have their justification. From rare classic cars and American big blocks to innovative electric micro-vehicles and the world's most modern sports cars...there's something here for everyone's taste and this is also where people express their own opinions emotionally. But always with respect and at eye level. Not just black or white...we celebrate the many exciting nuances in between...whether on two, three or four wheels....
The founders of the brands we love so much were always driven by the idea of making a vehicle just a little bit better or faster. This automotive entrepreneurial spirit has always impressed me and that's why I like the slogan at the entrance to MOTORWORLD so much:
"Be the MOTOR, change the WORLD"
In September, the international motor show IAA took place in Munich for the first time and we are proud to have represented the manufacturers Morgan and Donkervoort.
Our Sportwagen-Agentur.de was very busy this year and we found new homes for a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Aston Martin DB7 GTA, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Porsche GT3 RS, Audi R8 V10, Audi RS6 HGP with 962 hp, Porsche Boxster Spyder and many other cornering predators. If you are interested in the discreet marketing of a sports car, we will be happy to help.
In 1981, the year I was born, this wonderful photo of Colin Chapman proudly presenting his cars on the race track at Brands Hatch has been taken.

40 years later, a picture of me proudly presenting the last Lotus Elise and Exige Final Editions at our new location in Motorworld Munich was taken in the style of this photo.
In the last 15 years, probably not a day has gone by that I have not been intensively involved with the Lotus brand. With several locations and a great team, we have helped almost 800 customers into the Lotus seat during this time and have been able to cross the finish line as Retailer of the Year Europe five times as first and two times as second in the last seven years. And so, as the reigning largest dealer in Europe in the new car sector, we will now close the chapter on Lotus as an authorised dealer and service partner.
We will remain loyal to the scene and will soon tell you more about the curvy new adventures on which you are welcome to accompany us in the future. Exciting new projects await us, and we are already looking forward to them.
We wish the Lotus brand and all the friendly Lotus employees in Hethel all the best for the future and, as fans of these driving pleasure machines, can really only say:
THANKS, Colin!
Our dear colleague Walter Piller is now entering the professional home straight at the young age of 70 and I am very grateful that I was able to win Walter for our team in 2013 with his incredibly positive manner and his experience from brands such as Aston Martin, McLaren and Maserati. I was able to learn a lot from him and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement! THANK YOU!
I can also always fully rely on my other colleagues from all areas and at all locations. I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU again for that!
As every year, we refrained from giving out many small gifts and instead donated to Sonnenstrahl e.V., which cares for children and young people with cancer and their families.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, interested parties, partners, friends, employees and, of course, our manufacturers Morgan and Donkervoort for their loyalty to our company!
I wish us all a speedy return to normality and that, despite the flood of bad news, we do not lose sight of the beautiful things in life.
I wish you a very happy and healthy New Year.
Yours Stephan
