WHY I'M CALLING YOU TO GIVE A GIVA GIFT THAT KEEPS GIVING?
Firstly a Big Thank you to ALL Female Entrepreneurs entering the Awards, The nominees for accepting the GIVA challenge, and Group and Community hosts for allowing me to post this in your groups! Not forgetting the amazing Judges! I appreciate and love you all. Thank you for being a GIVA'er!
Happy New Day y’all! Let’s get reacquainted! It’s been a minute.
Who am I? A bit of fab facts about me:
I’m a native Zambian by birth, married to my British beau by divine intervention, lived in the global north for last 21 years, [USA for 10 years & UK for 11 years], a global citizen by choice, a wife, mother and yummy granny. A PR consultant by default, a Publicist at large to Female Entrepreneurs by divine appointment.
I took a 16 year gap between my Associate degree and BA, and finally graduated first class at age 51.
Shameless facts about me:
Am just going to be bold and write this post because I got a nudge to do it during my daily devotion where I listened to the John Robert Lewis (February 21, 1940 – July 17, 2020) an American statesman and civil rights activists’ case study where the narrator on Our Daily Bread ministries narrated ‘Good Trouble ’. It speaks of being an activist getting in good necessary trouble by speaking about / doing things that may be unpopular! if interested in the entire narrative.
Therefore, I’m making this a personal invitation to all female led groups to take a leap of faith and encourage your tribe to enter the awards, and do it 'while being afraid'!
It’s a no brainer that the Global Ignite Vision Awards [GIVA] were curated as a peer to peer Thought Leadership Collective to award and recognise female entrepreneurs that are running social impact business globally.
GIVA is a Made-With-Labour-Of -Love awards and recognition platform made possible by other female entrepreneurs who are volunteering their time to make the event a success!
These like minded female entrepreneurs (most of whom are in my Advance Female Network Pod 9] are volunteering their time and skills to curate specific category awards. The fact that these women have volunteered their time and skills as judges is a testament that GIVA is a movement for greater good.
Therefore as unorthodox as this post may may seem to some, I’m persuaded beyond reasonable doubt that I had to share this today! To some it may sound salesy, selfish [or any other ‘S’ word you may choose to attach it to it, that’s your prerogative]
You may claim that I’m openly doing ‘a sales CTA’ here! But bear me a second, before you judge me, let me be CLEAR this is how I serve people period! I myself put in 100’s of my own cash and billable hours into this as a labour of love NOT for anything I can get out of it, but for how much I can GIVE from it, because as a go-getter turned ‘Go GIVER’, I truly believe this is a CALLING I simply cannot quieten! It’s above my own pay grade and it sure surpasses my own logic and understanding, so be it.
Let it be known. Service is my passion and I’m an unapologetic social justice activist, and change advocate, it’s in my DNA so if you feel offended about this post I can only empathise…
That being said, the cringe worth awkwardness set aside, I want to extend an open invitation to EVERYONE to enter GIVA. Here is 3 simple reasons why!
1. GIVA is A Gift That Keeps Giving
2. It’s Thought Leadership Redefined.
3. It’s Challenging The Status Quo
Why should you care, you ask! Fair enough let me answer that by asking you the following 3 questions first…
Q1: We all know that special someone who is always sending you referrals, Offering you free advice or paid support Right?
Q2: We all serve in groups, communities or or are super served in at least 10 if not more other communities led by female entrepreneurs right?
Q3. Are you a change maker or a way maker who has a purpose driven business that is Educating Minds and Changing or Impacting Lives?
Rhetorical questions as a bonus!
Q: How many minds are educated and lives do you think are changed / transformed every minute globally on Facebook alone?
Q. So far, have you seen or heard of a platform anywhere in the world that is acknowledging the collective body of work, knowledge that is being exchanged and or giving credentials or accolades to the millions of female entrepreneurs prosumers (producing and consuming content) who are making this impactful change so diligently?

Q: Have you heard of affective Labour? If not, I suggest you google this using ‘Google Scholar’ Short of it, That's what Social Media does to most of us...well mostly, but the jury is still out on this one...with GIVA we can change that narrative collectively. I’ll leave you to make up your own mind.
On that bomb shell, keep calm and carry on reading…
If you answered yes to any of the above 3 questions for you; then you’re a GIVA’er! A term of endearment I coined to call women who are compassionate, selfless, giving, and effecting real change in their communities on and offline so that we can all ‘live and give a legacy of love’ while we are alive. Thus leave an immortalised legacy when we are gone!
We all know Globalisation is a gold standard especially post Covid, however the disparities that exclude women from being seen and heard as experts on a global stage are getting wider and broader.
As most can note simply from the disproportionate low number of female experts that have been called upon to give expert opinions on the unintended consequences of the global pandemic are a mockery to women folk when one study showed that generally speaking, there are considerably more women in gender population and more women in skilled work force globally than there are children under 18 and men combined. [Disclaimer: not fact checked]
I believe the suffragettes women, the me-too, Mumsnet and Albright movements were all borne out of a woman being fade up of the underrepresentation of women who were marginalised and left out of something or else their voices were stifled about something or lack of it. Or else their visibility diminished by someone.
I’m therefore so ‘angry’ that I feel called TO DO something about the lack of Thought Leadership collective representation for female entrepreneurs. So much so that I’m willing to bet my reputation and risk my entire 1:2:1 consultancy earnings as a PR consultant to focus on igniting this global vision!
Be that as it may, as I said, GIVA is a collective Made-With-Labour-Of -Love awards & recognition campaign made possible with the support of other change making and social impact female entrepreneurs who have volunteered their time to make the campaign a reality!
Everyone has a super hero or a fairy godmother who is a fearless female entrepreneur who deserves an award or recognition for the awesome work that they do! Or It could be you recognise that in yourself! Either way they OR you deserve the accolades!
So ladies, Don’t be shy, you’ve earned the bragging rights to receive, be heard and seen as a GOLD standard AWARD winning expert on a global stage...NO LESS! All I’m doing is providing the platform! So gladly go be a GIVA not a DIVA. Go on then…Sharing is caring here what you can do
1. Nominate at least 2 people you know, love or appreciate ([pay to enter them]
2. Or Share this post / repost in at least 3 groups you belong to including your own

Whatever you do, remember this, “The worst thing we can do as women, is NOT stand up for each other!”
