It Was a No Good, Terrible Month But…
I am already over 2021. Coronavirus on top of the normal winter blues is no way to start a year.
However, I am proud of myself for a small victories
1) 1000 sit-up and 1000 push-ups
My dad can attest to my utter hatred of these workouts. In high school, it was a Herculean effort to keep me motivated when training for the Coast Guard physical fitness test. However, this year I was able to complete at least 25 of each every day of the month.
2) Making My Bed Every Morning
A small part of my world was always organized
3) Kept My 3 Plants Alive
They are even thriving. Totally cheated and researched hard to kill plants but still my life has a little bit of green in it during the winter gray.
4) Flossed Everyday
Hasn’t made a huge difference in my life but succeeded at something most people fail at doing.
5) No Unnecessary Splurges
Somehow, I went the whole month and didn’t make any unnecessary purchases on Amazon.
6) Donated to 2 Local Organization
North Myrtle Beach had a senior cat named Luna. She reminded me of my cat Kitty. I am going to sponsor her until she gets adopted.
With Covid, I feel it is a good idea to donate to organizations assisting families with food insecurity. I started donating to Helping Hands of Myrtle Beach.
7) Read 3 Books
This month, I read Atomic Habits, Bird by Bird, and Accidental Time Machine. I have previously posted book reviews for all of them. Atomic Habits is best, if you’re looking for something to advance your career.
8) Walk 10k Steps Everyday
The 31st was the most difficult of them all. It rained all day. I had to make a concerted effort to get it done. I am glad to have done it though. I walked over 375k steps to start the year.
9) Created a Long-Term Financial Plan
It felt incredibly old but starting my long-term financial goals and reached out to financial advisors to see if someone can manage my money better for me
10) Journaled Every Day of the Month
I wrote down some of my feelings everyday. With everyone hitting the Covid wall, there was relief in documenting my thoughts even though most weren’t great.
