GOOD TEACHERS HANDED OVER TO BAD BOSS

This is my real-life story of becoming a school principal and then CEO of a cluster of schools and educational institutions. Till the year 2016, I was a happy teacher, led a simple life, and felt teaching was the most satisfying work. In my journey of teaching a fresher "Vice Principal" happened to come, we the teachers looked up to him with great hope and high expectations of being a great leader but since he himself hardly ever took any class and also used to get this answer papers corrected part wise part by requesting other teachers who were already loaded with their work, we slowly lost the regard for him and hence, most of us were working spontaneously according to our conscience, self-guidance, and experience. As usual, he had to prove his usefulness and he started making clerical rules to increase the reporting frequency on his table, in his chamber, where he used to remain busy over TEA AND SNACKS with other staff members of non-academic departments. After around a years time, teachers started questioning his verdicts with logic and he was becoming paranoid. We understood, that now either we have to wait for him to get better option somewhere, we need to deal with patience or we may need to find better place for ourselves. Employees never leave an organisation , they leave bad boss. Eventually, he started challenging the Higher Secondary Level teachers if they can become VICE PRINCIPAL like him or not ? This developed a question of self worth realization and many Higher Secondary Teachers picked up the offer of being Vice Principal and Principal in other schools, yes , initially it was difficult for everyone, but after a couple of years, all those teachers are TOPMAN of their organization and are good bosses who never treat teacher as someone who is at the lower post. The reason for me to write this post is to give a message to the capital venturists to never take a risk of handing over a bad boss to a team of high-potential teachers. Let them do what they like, and never challenge them to higher positions as, the world is in a dearth of good teachers but there is no dearth of clerks to take care of data entry, emailing, word processing, or even operations management. I wish my article reaches every teacher, principal and school owner so that the ecosystem of an educational institution is not disturbed due to the entry of marine species in fresh water. Let people bloom, where they are planted.
