Good Storytelling for Business – The Power of Persuasion

Stories are the building blocks of relationships – personal or business; that’s why it’s important to have a good storytelling for business strategy. It is an intrinsic quality of humans to “judge” based on stories, whether experienced first-hand or passed on to them – a mark is bound to be left. The impression thereafter would depend on the recipient’s point of view and interpretation. Based on this, it is also part of human nature to seek for positive feedback. Just like fairy tales and romance novels, an enterprise has a library of stories to offer.

Good Storytelling for Business that Convinces

Convincing consumers to try or patronize a product is one of the challenging moments of a business. The most common practice in the introduction process is by giving free samples; coupon inserts in magazines, booths at business establishments (mall, grocery or trade fairs) and even a party to launch the product. Another method is by letting selected employees and consumers experience the power of your product by letting them use it; this age-old way of marketing begets word of mouth advertisement. These people will testify to the positive aspects of the product. People by nature will believe someone they know 90% of the time rather than seeing it appear on TV.

Consumers are now more intelligent. Avoid claims that your product is the “cure” to all diseases or their “fountain of youth” because technology is at the tip of their fingers, and they can easily check the validity of the brand and what it claimed it could do.

Good Storytelling for Business while Climbing the Hill

Every business situation calls for the right strategy. Similarly, a man just doesn’t hit a woman on the head with a club and takes her home. The key to climbing that slope and reaching the top is a perfect battle plan. The important points to consider would be the competition and the edge of the product.

Setting the overwhelming need for a product without being pushy stimulates the consumer into availing then using the commodity. A good approach would be on a personal level. Some commercials show a family-oriented attack or a personal experience (first person) style. Furthermore, realistic point of views sells best because it triggers emotions, which stir up feelings such as hope, fun, love and security.

Good Storytelling for Business – Grand Finale

Getting over the hump doesn’t mean that work is consummated, it tells about a new beginning – a new window of opportunity for the outfit. Even in life, a walk or drive downhill is as dangerous as or even more dangerous than the uphill battle. If the descent is too fast, a person can hurt himself or an unfortunate death due to an accident.

There is an overwhelming feeling of confidence after hitting the target, which may damage the company later on. The scarecrow may have received his brains and the lion his heart, but it didn’t end there; they used what they received to continue doing what is right. In business, it is keeping the ball rolling while constantly improving to adhere to the consumer and then more incoming since they put in a good word for the company and its products.

Corporations, marketers or even the sales team is involved in the entire process of creating a good storytelling for business campaign. As they say, “Helping hands make work light.” It is by helping each other that makes the association turn into a family.
