A good starting point for group discussions on autism.

This a good resource for sparking discussion about autism. I think that the balance between individuality and inclusion is an important aspect of such a conversation. This clip emphasizes individuality. The discussion then could focus on inclusion, which would include further understanding the negative aspects of autism as well as ways to integrate people on the spectrum into groups.

7 年My understanding of the fils is that it sets out to create awareness regarding autism. I feel that the film succeeded in stimulating my interest. I especially appreciated the ideographic emphasis and feel this perspective allows for a comprehensive understanding of an individual's difficulty within a specific context. This may result in unique interventions tailored for the individual within their environment. Thank you for creating awareness through such an elegant product. Looking forward to more learning.

7 年To understand any disorder or biological matter we got to recognize disorder or biological conflict and that cannot be done without recognizing the diagnosis and label attached to it. I really like to gain more knowledge and understanding of autism and I am welcoming this discussion and looking forward to learn.

7 年Thank you for the share Ami B.. Any opportunity to communicate inclusion and to destigmatize any group of people is very encouraging. (Yes, there's a but coming). But...I have a hard time with people being compared to or having our brains described as computers, with visuals of being wired up and compared to technological devices such as X-Box or Game Station (I may be naming them incorrectly). As well, I have a hard time with an individual referred to as an autistic and the the brain as an autistic brain. Let's keep the dialogue going, but let's humanize it a little bit. Thanks for the opportunity to have this dialogue.
