That is a good question...

I had someone say to me…..you must be one of the youngest qualified Finance Brokers in Perth, maybe even Australia.

It’s not something that I’d stop to think about. Maybe that’s correct? I’m not sure. For the record, I’m 22 years of age. If there’s anyone else out there my age or younger, I’d love to hear from them. In this Industry, we need to ensure we help and support each other, especially in such constantly changing and challenging times.

People often ask me, is it a barrier being so young in such a complex industry? Do people prefer to deal with someone older and more experienced?

Well, I’m still finding my feet but I am surrounded by a wonderful Group of experienced mentors, associates and family. I come from a family with a strong finance background. I get great support from FAST and the MFAA. I’ve hired a professional mentor and have other older brokers who constantly offer me support and encouragement. I’m also lucky that I work in an office with a very experienced Chartered Accountant. I couldn’t be any better supported really.

In terms of the customers, they want someone who provides them with a great offering. I like to think I’m pretty engaging. I love hearing people stories and it’s a privilege to help them. Finance often involves critical moment in a person’s life, a new house, a new car, buying a business or even working capital to save a business. It’s is a special experience to share that with people. As a service provider, my aim is simply to help make people feel important. If I can do that and give them the best option, I think I’m halfway there.
