News from the world of Germanedge

The topic of artificial intelligence is already on everyone's lips, but for a long time, it was considered an expert topic. We at Germanedge also spend a lot of time looking at the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence. In recent years, AI has developed into an important building block that we use in quality management, for example. The area of predictive quality, where suitable AI solutions can identify deficits before real costs are incurred, will soon become essential for quality managers. The ability of AI models to develop new questions that are relevant for continuous process improvement is extremely important in the QM area. An appropriately advanced QM AI will thus be able to permanently expand the perspective of the analysis and possibly even open up further dimensions that have not yet been considered. If you would like more information on this topic, take a look at our blog post on "Quality Trends"!

Progress in technology

Today we want to dive deeper with you into the fascinating world of Germanedge's Digital Factory - an ecosystem that redefines flexibility, resilience, and efficiency in your production environment. The Digital Factory is much more than a MES: It's a complete ecosystem that covers areas such as planning, quality assurance, administration, production, maintenance, safety, and compliance. All Digital Factory services are delivered from the cloud and can be quickly switched on or off as required. The concept of loosely coupled components ensures that the parts of the factory remain independent of each other, making the overall system robust. The loosely coupled systems communicate with each other via an event bus. This serves as a central communication platform to exchange events and data between B2MML and ISA95-compliant systems in the manufacturing industry in real-time, enabling seamless integration and interoperable processes. All of the company's machines and IT systems are connected to the platform via standardized interfaces.

In the next newsletter, we would like to explain the advantages of the Digital Factory in relation to the cloud services of our software and go into more detail about the innovative system design.

Meet the people of Germanedge

Friday, March 8, marked International Women's Day when we celebrate the remarkable contributions of women around the world. Join us in recognizing our female colleagues at Germanedge who are shaping the future of the digital factory and driving innovative technologies - whether in front of or behind the scenes. We want to say THANK YOU!

Beyond Germanedge

Cyber security in production facilities

News of hacker attacks has repeatedly surfaced in recent weeks. In addition to the defense industry, enterprises from other sectors or more inconspicuous companies have also been particularly affected. As a result, cyber security continues to be one of the most important topics, as it has been in previous years. Did you know that we guarantee almost 100% availability of your digital factory with our highly secure cloud services?

Number of the month at Germanedge

Our number of the month for March is 100,000! This is because we at Germanedge monitor around

100,000 machines and systems in the manufacturing industry

in real-time, which leads to greater transparency in production and an increase in efficiency for companies.

Insight into our domains

News from the Connected Worker Domain

Does the topic of integrated maintenance mean anything to you? Modern maintenance serves to protect people, systems, and the environment, but operation and maintenance are often separated from each other and block each other. The Germanedge Connected Worker with our maintenance software now reunites both components. The three important areas of maintenance, monitoring, and repair are fully supported by the application. This saves costs, which ensures that you make better decisions in your production and achieve an average increase in OEE of 3%. At the same time, you reduce input errors by around 70% thanks to our plausibility check. Would you like to know more about this topic? We're happy to help.

News from the Planning Domain

The Germanedge Planning Domain is pleased to announce that the user interface of our planning products is undergoing a major overhaul to further improve your user experience. After intensive development work, we are very proud to present the first presentations of the current state of development.

These presentations offer you an exclusive insight into the innovative functions and the revised design, which aims to optimize your workflows and offer you a seamless user experience. Have we awakened your interest? Get in touch with us now!

News from the Production Domain

Complex processes need to be coordinated in production - and the Germanedge Production Management Domain's MES/SCADA (Manufacturing Execution Systems/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system is best suited for this! Imagine that you are standing in your ultra-modern factory with complex machines and systems running: How can you ensure that all these machines work efficiently and that production runs smoothly?

This is where Germanedge's MES solution comes into play as it has several modules that all ensure that your production runs smoothly. One of these concepts is OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). OEE is a measure of how well your machines are performing. It takes into account various factors such as availability, performance, and quality of the machines to understand how effective they are. To keep an overview of all this data, we at Germanedge use a second module, namely central plant monitoring. This is like the control center of a space station, from which you can keep an eye on all the machines. This is where information about the condition of the machines, their performance, and potential problems comes together so that we can intervene quickly if something goes wrong.

Next time, we will tell you more about the "Track & Trace" and "Total Productive Maintenance" modules of our MES solution. Would you like more information about the Production Domain's MES software now? Then book an appointment with us.

News from the Quality Domain

Did you already get to know our LIMS terminal of the QDA SOLUTIONS Quality Domain? It now has many more efficient functions: Among other things, laboratories can quickly scale their resources as required using cloud-based solutions. The browser-based interface makes it easy to deal with complex issues in the laboratory. The order management function enables laboratories to manage orders efficiently, from recording and tracking order details to the automated creation of certificates and allocating resources and deadlines. By managing all orders centrally, bottlenecks can be identified and corresponding actions can be planned effectively. You can easily add additional users, expand storage space, or integrate new functions without the need for extensive hardware investments, which ensures greater flexibility in the working environment.

Overall, a cloud-based laboratory management program provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for laboratories to optimize their operations, increase productivity, and improve the quality of their services. Would you like to find out more about LIMS? Then contact us and make an appointment!
