Wyman amplifies youth voice & leadership, elevates social connections, & expands opportunities for young people.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the 2022 Gala and to everyone who supported the Gala and helped us host an inspiring, successful event.
Thank you for your commitment to our region's young people.
And most of all, thank you for partnering with us as we break down barriers, walk alongside the teens we serve, and continue our journey to serve our mission fiercely and unapologetically on behalf of the young people in our region and across the country.
Catching up with TOP Teens!
As the school year wraps up, our TOP Teens at Ferguson-Florissant and University City are reflecting on everything they have accomplished this year.
TOP teens at both school districts had fun participating in community service projects. At Brittany Woods, TOP students were excited to finally get out of the classroom and into the community. They participated in community service at several places, including Greenwood Cemetery, LifeWiseSTL, and Loaves and Fishes. At Wedgwood and Johnson Wabash, teens had fun making CSL projects and supporting the community through in-house field trips. Each TOP club at Wedgwood and Johnson Wabash picked their own community service projects which included supporting people experiencing hunger and homelessness; creating care kits for kids at Mission STL and Friends of Kids with Cancer; and supporting the environment by planting flowers and making birdhouses. These students at both districts worked hard this semester to support their communities!
Throughout the school year, TOP teens have been able to speak up about topics they care about, volunteer within their community, and develop their social-emotional skills. They are excited to end the year on a fun and positive note - engaging in projects like writing letters to 6th graders, 8th grade sendoff journals, and talking about mental health and developing projects to support students and teachers.

Gabriela is looking forward to growing and continuing to support staff and students between both districts this upcoming year. Congratulations, Gabriela!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Mental health matters now more than ever as youth are struggling with feelings of loneliness and hopelessness. Supporting youth to build stronger connections with family, school, and peers is a powerful tool that makes a positive impact on mental health. Youth serving professionals are called to recognize that connections truly are the foundation of growth and healing, and a path to helping our youth feel hopeful about their futures.
May is Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month
Join us as we celebrate and honor AAPI culture and history.
Over the last two years, racism and violence has increased against the AAPI community and legislators, students, and activists from across the country have been fighting back. One inspiring example is Dear Asian Youth, an organization founded by teen activist Stephanie Hu. Dear Asian Youth helps AAPI youth connect with one another?and their communities and spread positivity and acceptance. Visit https://dearasianyouth.org to learn more about this incredible organization.
Did you know? May was chosen to commemorate AAPI heritage in honor of 2 key dates - May 7, 1843 marked the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants to the US and May 10, 1869 marked the completion of the first transcontinental railroad which had significant contributions from Chinese immigrants.?
