We are Celebrating 125 Years in 2023!

Wyman was founded in 1898 to provide St. Louis youth with the opportunity for outdoor and character-building experiences. Over the last 125 years, our work has continually evolved as the world and needs of young people have changed. But one thing has remained the same: our commitment to teens.?

Now, Wyman is part of the lives of?more than 29,000?young people every year. By partnering with youth, our community, and youth-centered organizations across the country, Wyman empowers teens, equips adults, and strengthens systems to create more equitable opportunities for all young people;?helping them prepare for the future they want.

TOP Kicks Off a New Semester

After enjoying their winter break, TOP teens in?Ferguson-Florissant?and?University City?are looking forward to what this semester of TOP will bring.?

In Ferguson-Florissant, students are exploring the different social and emotional changes middle schoolers experience. They are taking what they learn and using it to support their school community by creating journals that other students can use while navigating those changes.

In University City, students are learning new social-emotional skills. Sixth graders will be focusing on clear communication, advocacy, and ways to be successful. Seventh graders will be discussing the power of their choices, friendships, emotions, and mental health. The eighth graders will be talking about ways to make healthy decisions, money management, and ways to achieve their goals.

We asked students 'what have you learned in TOP so far this year?'? And this is what they said. 'I learned how to respect other people's cultures and how they are different from me."? "How to be more social with people I don't know"? "I learned to be a good person and not judge people how they look."? "TOP has taught me to be nice to other people and communities in our school."? "Reminding me to think before I say stuff because it is hard to do that most of the time. TOP reminds me to think before I speak."?

We can't wait to see how TOP teens grow this semester!
