Good News Friday: God Moments

Friends, there's a lot of good and interesting things happening. It's a beautiful time to be here, but I'd like to focus on this week's God moment. He is greater.
Generosity and Hope
Sadly, a former colleague's husband recently passed. She generously donated his collection of shoes to the FreeShoes.org / #CLTshoeMan ministry. Some of the excess pairs I deliver to a local non-profit on her behalf. In a way, this loss is transforming into new opportunities. Challenge creating hope.
Slow Down and Be Present
It's dark, cold, and rainy out that evening. I don't want to be outside. An older gentleman is receiving the donations. He comments something like, "That's a lot of shoes." Rushing to the dry and warm comfort of my vehicle, I passingly mention the ministry. He lights up with interest. The message is clear, "Adam, slow down and be present." The man volunteers locally and wants to know more. Many minutes later we're still talking and he's sharing joys and burdens. He's become disconnected from his church post-COVID. He's rebounding from life-impacting illness and surviving this offers some spiritual clarity. He's realizing professional changes and aging into unanticipated retirement. Faithful struggles along life's road.

Next Steps
Opportunity presented. This man doesn't need shoes, but he does need prayer and connection. I am presented a unique opportunity to lift and encourage him. I'm praying for a random stranger on a dark rainy evening through a seemingly disconnected chain of generosity moments following loss. I continue to engage him toward next steps and invite him for fireside fellowship with other men.
God Moments
How'd it happen? I don't believe in accidents. By taking steps in His name, He puts "God moments" along the path for revelation and transformation. He architects moments and intersections. My good news today is encouragement to seek them. My good news today is a call to intentionality as His body. His hands. His feet. His eyes. His mouth. His ears.
A blessed whole body! Thanks Adam!

1 年Good stuff Adam... we often miss our blessings focusing elsewhere. Staying in step with Him will give clarity and purpose.
This moved me today. Love you, my friend.
Adam, the way you described your moment and reflected is powerful. Thank you for sharing this. It’s definitely reminded me to be slow down and be present because above all else, friendship and these occurrences are definitely essential and the purpose of everything! Thank you!
