Good news or bad news ?

Last friday one of our well appreciated customers informed us that T-Trex Venlo B.V. will unfortunately loose a significant share of the transport volume which we have succesfully handled for this customer for some years now. Allegedly the reason for this decision is the fact that it was based on a new strategy this customer has implemented with reducing their carrier group and grouping them under two service providers offering enhanced technologies and analytics.
Why mentioning this on Linkedin? To my strong belief this platform, which is mainly marked by positive self-reflecting (and sometimes 'over the edge') posts, should also be available to reflect general market developments and views from a personal perspective, even if they have a negative feel.
Last weekend I have taken the time to determine if the message received last friday should be considered as negative and my conclusion is: no ! Why 'no' ?
- Our team has done everything in their power to serve this customer correctly
- T-Trex Venlo B.V. will still be servicing this customer, even though on a smaller scale
- You must respect the fact of life that you cannot control everything
And the most important one:
- Customer quote: 'This isn’t a reflection on your performance, as it has been superb!'
I would like to thank this customer for stating his honest opinion about our services and hereby would like to compliment our team on their splendid work, for this customer and for others. In this way the 'bad' news has turned into positive, making us to take 1 step back but enabling us to take 2 steps forward !
