Good Morning LinkedIn, It Has Been A Long Time!

Good Morning LinkedIn. It has been a long time since I have posted here. First let me say thank you for all friends, acquaintances, and connections who have been wondering where I disappeared to. As few know I am no longer at Off Lease Only, I was let go just before they sold. Some may think that I have a lot of animosity, however I don't. I was given the opportunity to run the largest independently owned used car store in the nation and we succeed beyond anyone's expectations. To help bring the Orlando location from delivering on average just under 700 cars per month when I first started, to delivering on average 1400 cars per month, up to 1750 a month during income tax season was something to be seen. And am very grateful for that opportunity, we were able to build a great team.

You know what they say, everything happens for a reason  Now for the reason of my absence. I know God won't put any more on your plate than you can handle and it turns out I would definitely have to focus my time and energy elsewhere. In the coming months ahead I would definitely be tested on that. I am a very private person when it comes to my personal life and family so this is not that easy to put out there. Last March my eldest son was diagnosed with a DNET brain tumor and Coradical Dysplasia. The rate of growth was very fast and it was close to his brain stem. This definitely tossed a wrench in all the gears. We had only 30 days to decide whether to operate or not because of how fast it was growing. Here is a young man who had offers to play football at college and was deciding of whether or not to take the offers or join the military. Unfortunately he couldn't do either this year. The decision was made to have the tumor removed. 6 month follow up and the neurosurgeon tells me they discovered another mass on his frontal lobe and would not be able to operate. Needless to say I was crushed and told very few people, I didn't even tell my son. I requested another MRI before making any decisions. 3 months later his MRI was good, no mass on the frontal lobe. The neurosurgeon informed me that the radiologist read the 6 month MRI wrong. We did another MRI 3 months later and all good. So I am happy to say Michael is 100% and was able to get a partial scholarship to play football this Spring. It is not at the school he wanted but like he said dad I have the opportunity to prove myself and when I do I will go to the school I want.

Hopefully everyone understands why I have not updated my LinkedIn profile but I was a little distracted. I must say that young man has one of the most positive attitudes I have ever seen. Now that he is 100% I am ready to look for new opportunities.

I have been very blessed in the automotive business and thankfully very good at what I have been able to accomplish when building the right team. When I say "what I have been able to accomplish" I truly me WE. Although the GM is the one with the awards and plaques in his office, they don't exist without building a good team to achieve goals and objectives.

I am not the type of person who believes that 1 person changes the financial statement of a dealership however 1 person can change the mindset of a lot of people and that will change the bottom line.

Thank you for taking the time to read and understanding why I have not been up to date.
