How do you define a person’s motivational needs, match them to your organization’s needs, and then place that new employee in a position that serves you both?

The decision to hire someone, based in part by priority of their motivational needs, makes a big difference to both the employee and employer.?

This week, I share the three principal needs of human motivation, and how they relate to hiring the right person. Read this week’s scenario blog post to discover these needs and how each of us prioritizes them.

REVIEW OF THE INTEGRATOR?

I gave a copy of my book to one of my mentees. While I’ve known this individual for a few years, I’m honored he seeks guidance from me to help him navigate challenges in his career. I can’t help but wonder about his perspective about my book.

This is what he wrote in review of The Integrator:

I’m a Product Owner, who is constantly researching how to bring value to my team. The Integrator is a treasure chest of information from the perspective of a Change Manager called in to recoup a failed project. We all know and can assume how daunting a task that is. Each chapter has real life dialogue that actually happens in the office between IT team members. This was a nice surprise. The author did an awesome job introducing his DELTA framework without a data dump on the reader. Bonus - there is an actual plot!

This is not the first time I received a compliment for telling a story to teach DELTA, my change management framework for achieving Agile IT project success. I am pleased to learn that this narrative style holds readers’ interest instead of the typical textbook that just explains a bunch of facts. Read more reviews of The Integrator on Amazon.
