Good luck with a popular post!

This week I posted a question I did not know the answer to - what happens if a post on LinkedIn is shared by many different people (because it's popular or helpful or others just found it useful. I recently posted someone else's Infographic with some comments (and a link to the author Jamie LaPorte and the post has been viewed over 6,000 times! Now I know Jamie can't see that because those are my statistics, but I thought what if I had shared or reposted something Jamie had written - would she see my reshare statistics?

I asked the question, because Jamie's infographic has been reshared from my post alone 32 times!

I posted the question and Tim Mintner confirmed by suspicion - if someone posts something on LinkedIn and you reshare it, the original post is completely separate from the reshared post or posts - even if the others are more popular. Thanks to Tim and Jamie for the inspiration on learning what happens when a post gets viewed and shared a lot - you can reach out to others to get a sense for how much attention it's getting, but I don't think you're in control (unless you have them click to a blog, video or some other sort of link that then the author or originator is in control of. #SocialSelling

Thanks Daniel for your continued support and sharing this! I like how you asked the question. I learned something as well!
