Hi all. Found an excellent article that I am sure many will relate to. Hope you get something useful out of this...
In a workspace, there are two types of leaders – leaders and good leaders. There is a reason good leadership is an important asset to the company, its work culture and the employees as well. A leader is like the captain of a ship sailing in the competitive market with a goal to reach specific destinations. These people build the tools and methods of the organisational working patterns that drive towards success. They also imbibe the qualities of company values, culture, disciplinary habits, etc. in their teammates. Wonder what such influencers take care about while being at the helm of their teams?
Regular Meetings
Even if it is not the regular 9-5 timings, offices do have routines. It just varies from one organisation to another. Good leaders make it a point that they hold regular meetings both at the start and end of the week. This ensures one thing that their team is clarified about the tasks for the week ahead. And they can also analyse the amount of output at the end of the week.
An Ear for the Team
Great leadership comes with great empathy. It is not just personal problems that a boss can show empathy towards. As a good head, you should have enough empathy that your team can come to you for any kind of concern. Good bosses create an environment where their employee feels safe to put their feelings into words.
This automatically decreases the grapevine in the office and in turn leads to less politics at workplace.
