The end of another week, so time for a few more suggestions:

GOOD IDEA FOR LOOKING AFTER KEYBOARDS

Do you have a ‘proper’ keyboard??Mine seems to keep attracting dust and fluff – maybe from the clothes I wear, or perhaps there’s something in the air.???Worth taking a bit of time to keep it clean.?I use those tiny interdental brushes (that you can use instead of dental floss) – they’re great to get into small spaces.?I use the Tepe ones from Boots.

GOOD IDEA FOR REDUCING EYE STRAIN

Look away from your keyboard, or other device, frequently.?And look as far away as you can – across the room or, better still, out of a window into the distance.??Looking at things further away changes the focus of your eyes and can help relax them.

?GOOD IDEA FOR RELAXING YOUR EYES

Sit with your elbows on a table, resting them on cushions.?Close your eyes and place the palms of your hands over your eyes to keep out any light.??Sit like that for a while – it’s very relaxing.

?GOOD IDEA FOR STARTING CONVERSATIONS

If you sometimes find it hard to start a conversation with someone new, this simple technique works very well – make a statement and then ask a question.?? For example: That’s an interesting picture on your wall – where did you get it??You look cheerful- have you had a good day??There’s a lot of people here this morning – do you know many of them.

?GOOD IDEA FOR GETTING THINGS DONE

Set a timer for ten minutes.??Really focus on one activity, without stopping, for that time.?It might be planning your day, writing some emails, working on a presentation or whatever you choose.?DO NOT allow ANY interruptions during that time – switch off your phone, put a ‘do not disturb’ notice on your door and just focus.???Then switch to something else after the ten-minute burst.???It’s really effective and it’s amazing how much you can get done in ten minutes if you’re really paying attention to it.
