GOOD IDEAS FROM CAROL - 24
I think I have my numbering out of sync. There wasn’t a 22!??Anyway, hope you like the contents even if my consistency isn’t up to much.....
GOOD IDEA FOR UNDERSTANDING DIFFERENCES
I used to give people a little exercise on courses, where I asked them to rank some words and then compare their ranking with others in a group.?Here’s a condensed version of the exercise – there aren’t any ‘right’ answers, but see how your responses are similar to, or differ from, those of your friends, family or colleagues. ??You might be surprised by the differences. ?Rank these words from ‘most’ to ‘least’:
Always, sometimes, never, frequently, a lot, not often, occasionally, a few times, seldom, infrequently, lots of times.
GOOD IDEA FOR CUTTING BACK ON UNNECESSARY ITEMS
This can apply to work papers, clothes, utensils – anything you choose, really.??Put some of them out of sight (in another room, a cupboard, a bin bag, a box) and leave them for six months.?If you haven’t missed them, it’s probably OK to throw or give them away.
GOOD IDEA FOR KEEPING NOTES
Use colour.??I use colour all the time – in my diary, on lists I make, with corrections to documents.??My system involves circles for urgent, circle and asterisk for more urgent, circle and asterisk in red for really urgent.?Anything with no colour is relegated to obscurity until I’ve completed the coloured items.??Works for me. ?
GOOD IDEA FOR MAINTAINING CONCENTRATION
Have breaks and a drink of water.???If you find your mind wandering, it’s probably time to stop for a while.?Having a short break, and a bit of hydration, can help you start again refreshed and ready to go.
GOOD IDEA FOR A MEAL
Apparently today is National Fish and Chip Day.?So how about a variation on that traditional meal.?Use an air fryer, try a different kind of fish, have cold fish with hot chips – use your imagination.???If you can use your imagination on a meal, you can also use it at work.???What ideas can you come up with while contemplating our national dish?
