GOOD IDEAS FROM CAROL - 142
Bit late in the day again.? I had to be out most of the morning and then had phone calls to do, so just sorting this newsletter now.?? My theme for this week is making things easy.?
?
GOOD IDEA 1
Do things at the time of day when you are most alert – physically and/or mentally. We all have ‘biorhythms’ – these are like body clocks which keep us alert or relaxed at different times of day and night.? Whether you’re a lark or an owl, you will have certain times that work best for you.? And that means there will be particular times of day when you’re best able to do physical or mental activity.? If you identify those times and then fit your activity schedules to them you’ll be more energetic and get more done.??
?
GOOD IDEA 2
Ask yourself whether tasks are as urgent and important as you think. Sometimes they aren’t, in which case they can be postponed, letting you focus on the things that really have to be done here and now.
?
GOOD IDEA 3
Break things down into component parts so you can do small chunks at a time. ??If I’m making a meal, I might sort cooking utensils in advance, prepare some things the day before, pre-cook one or two items and so on.? That means I don’t have to do an entire meal at one go – makes it simpler and some elements can be slotted in between other things if necessary.

GOOD IDEA 4
Have things easily accessible. This is one of my own problems – I often don’t put things away, or have them to hand when needed, so spend unnecessary time looking for them.? Please don’t copy me!? An effective system which works for you really helps; it saves time, energy and stress.

GOOD IDEA 5
Think ahead. ??A lot of things can be made easier if you know about them in advance. ?Allowing enough time for travel, doing research before putting pen to paper – even putting out enough chairs for a meeting. ?Consider what will be needed before the event and you’ll save time and aggravation. ?

Hope this has been useful – see you again next week.
