GOOD IDEAS FROM CAROL - 140
COULDThis week, some thoughts on how to keep motivated.? I hope some, if not all, of these ideas work for you.
?
GOOD IDEA 1
Vary what you do.? It can be easy to get bored and overloaded when you focus on just one task for a long time.?? I was speaking to someone this week about wallpapering.?? She said she got it all done in a day or two, by just keeping going.? I said I did about half an hour a day and then left it, so I didn’t get fed up.?? Different patterns, but worth recognising which one works best for you.
?
GOOD IDEA 2
Keep remembering the end result you want to achieve.? You might do this by visualising it, telling other people what you’re aiming for or imagining what life will be like when you’ve done it.?? Keeping focused on the result can help you stay positive about the process of getting there.?
?
GOOD IDEA 3
Have a reward waiting for you when you achieve your result.? Whatever works for you – an outing, a new book, a houseplant – knowing you can have it when you finish could really help. ?

GOOD IDEA 4
Have a buddy who is working on something similar. ?You can compare notes, have little ‘contests’, give each other pep talks – it’s often easier to keep going if you’re not alone.
?
GOOD IDEA 5
Where possible, only work on things that you find stimulating and motivating anyway. ??Not always possible, but if you’re endlessly trying to motivate yourself to do things, you might want to question whether you’re spending time on the right ones in the first place. ??It’s good to have that kind of conversation with yourself before you start large projects because it’s harder to give them up half way if you realise they weren’t right for you in the first place.

Hope you found something of interest here and see you next week.
